A Sunset to Remember

Famed for its dazzling sunsets, remarkable views and iconic whitewashed buildings, it’s easy to understand why Santorini is a popular Greek Island choice.

Explore

Discover the island’s fascinating history and take a visit to the archaeological site of Akrotiri, also known as the “Minoan Pompeii”. Witness the remarkable ruins of the most important prehistoric settlements of the Aegean and view the remains of buildings and objects that have been carefully excavated and preserved. If you’re hungry for more, tie it in with a trip to The Museum of Prehistoric Thira, home to more remains of Akrotiri, as well as pieces from other sites on the island.

Walk the 9km from Fira to Oia and take in Santorini’s magnificent sights. The picturesque route will take you through the stunning towns of Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli and Oia.

Spend a glorious afternoon learning about the unique flavours of Santorini wine at one of the many tours available on the island. We recommend the 4-Hour Sunset Wine Tour where you’ll visit three traditional wineries and sample nine varieties of wine including Assyrtiko, Nykteri, and Vinsanto.

Get your bathing suits and sun cream at the ready and take a trip to the hot springs and volcanic rocks. Arrive by one of the boats departing from Oia or the Old Port. The continuous underground volcanic activity maintains the sulfuric water’s temperature between 30°C and 35°C, which is said to be curative for the skin and joints.

Grab a beer and some popcorn and relax under the stars at the Open-Air Cinema in Kamari. From May, the cinema presents cult movies for locals and holiday makers to enjoy.

Whether you’re in Oia or Imerovigli, or anywhere else on the island for that matter, watching the remarkable sunset is a must during your stay. It’s a spectacle not to be missed!

A menu filled with a delectable mix of traditional dishes such as moussaka and international alternatives like pizza and pasta makes Argo a firm favourite on the island. Aside from its delicious menu and great service, the restaurant boats incredible views over the caldera, so it’s easy to understand why it attracts large crowds year after year.
